Georgia Child Support Enforcement

A parent may contact the Georgia Division of Child Support Services in order to have an existing child support order enforced. DCSS has the authority to enforce child support orders and can assist in finding an absent parent as well imposing penalties for failure to pay.

How to File a Complaint

In Georgia, you have the option to apply for child support enforcement online or fill out an application and mail it in, along with supporting documents and a $25 fee to your local child support office.

How to Fill In

Step 1: Download application

Step 2: Read and sign applicant rights and responsibilities

Step 3: Enter the following information about yourself:

  • Whether you are the custodial parent
  • Type of service requested
  • Whether you have received TANF
  • Name
  • Social Security Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Place of Birth
  • Sex
  • Race:
  • Whether you ever had a child support case in another state
  • Marital Status
  • Home Address
  • Mailing Address
  • E-Mail Address
  • Phone numbers
  • Whether the custodial parent/nonparent custodian in the military?
  • Whether you currently have health insurance and if the child is covered by the policy?
  • Insurance Information
  • Whether you ever been a victim of domestic violence
  • Whether the child(ren) you are requesting services for ever been a victim any physical or emotional harm

Step 4: Enter the following information about the children for which you are seeking support:

  • Name
  • SSN
  • Date of Birth
  • Place of Birth

  • Born Out of Wedlock?
  • Paternity information

Step 5: Enter the following information about the non-custodial parent:

  • Name

Step 6: Enter the following information about the family of the non custodial parent

Step 7: Sign

Step 8: Fill out the personal financial affidavit

Step 9: Fill out the paternity affidavit

Step 10: Fill out the authorization agreement for direct deposit if applicable

Step 11: Send the packet, the following documents:

  • Birth certificates for all children born OUTSIDE of Georgia;
  • Paternity Affidavit
  • Proof of RSDI dependent benefits received
  • Verification of school enrollment, status, grade level and anticipated graduation date if the child(ren) is 18 and is still a full-time high school student
  • A photocopy of all support orders that exist (Final Divorce Decree, Separation or Settlement Agreement, Child Support Order entered by any state or foreign country, Modification of Support Order, Contempt Order, Juvenile Court Order and/or Temporary Order)along with a $25 fee to your local office.
