The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Child Support Services can take a number of actions to enforce a child support order depending on the circumstances of the parents involved and the case.  Examples of actions that may be taken include:

  • An employer of the non-paying parent may be directed to withhold pay for child support
  • A court may order that funds be garnished from the non-paying parent’s accounts
  • A non-paying parent’s credit rating may be damaged by failure to pay due to credit reporting
  • A non-paying parent’s tax refund may be diverted to child support services to pay for owed child support
