The Colorado child support guidelines are located in the Colorado Revised Statues, Section 14-10-115. They were passed by the Colorado General Assembly and are used by the Colorado courts and Division of Child Support Services (CSS) to determine how much a parent should pay in order to support their children. The guidelines are based on each parent’s financial resources, the resources of the child, the medical and physical needs of the child, and the child’s standard of living during the parents’ marriage. These factors are factored into the calculation of child support.
