Title 78B, Chapter 12 of the Utah Code sets forth the Utah Child Support Act.  The Act provides the jurisdiction and authority for the State of Utah to impose a child support order.  It also sets forth the conditions upon which a child support should be determined and ordered.  In addition it provides mechanisms by which child support services can enforce child support orders when a parent fails to pay. The Code sets forth how much child support should be ordered based on the parents’ income and takes into account other costs paid by the parents.
