In order to enforce child support payments in South Dakota<\/strong>\u00a0a\u00a0parent\u00a0who is not receiving child support payments as ordered by the court, may seek assistance from the\u00a0Division of Child Support. DCS may be able to help get in touch with the parent who is not making the payments as directed and, if found to be guilty of non-payment, direct that funds be deducted\u00a0funds from their wages\u00a0so that the funds are automatically received.<\/p>\n

How to File a Complaint<\/h2>\n

In South Dakota, parents\u00a0must pay child support in accordance with the\u00a0child support order as issued by the court of original jurisdiction, even if the court order is from an out of state court, until the child support order is modified or terminated. Child support orders are enforced across state lines by the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act.<\/p>\n
