The Alaska Child Support Services Division (CSSD) handles the enforcement, modification and review of child support awards and orders. In addition, the division can establish and enforce a payment amount based upon the guidelines set forth in Alaska Civil Court Rule 90.3. The division also will help a custodial parent locate an absent parent, help establish paternity and handle child support payments including allowing for direct deposit to the custodial parent.

  • In Alaska, you can make a child support payment either in person at the main office in Anchorage, by mail, or setup an electronic funds transfer using the authorization form and faxing to the State.   • The Alaska child support calculator is may be accessed via the State’s website that automatically estimates the amount of child support that a parent may be obligated to pay on a monthly basis. The parent responsible for the child support payments may use income from all sources, including regular income and dividend income.   • In order to enforce child support payments in Alaska against a parent who has failed to pay, the parent who is supposed to receive the child support payments may be able to contact the Alaska Child Support Services Division (“CSSD”) in order to enforce a child support order.   • The Alaska Child Support Laws set forth for the courts and the Child Support Services Division the rules for determining who should pay child support and how much.  The guidelines take into account income of each of the parents, health care needs and coverage for the children, educational needs of the children, and the employment status, among other criteria.
