In North Carolina the Division of Social Services Child Support Services department (CSS) works with divorced, separated or never married parents to make sure they both live up to their obligation to financially support their children even when they no longer live in the home with them. Some of the services offered includes helping to establish paternity, petitioning the court to establish a child support order, enforcing existing child support orders and collection and disbursing child support payments.
