The West Virginia Bureau for Child Support Enforcement (BCSE) exists to help divorced, separated or never-married parents provide for the financial support of their children. Both parents are obligated to provide financial support for their children, even if they no longer live with the child. Even if a parent has moved out of state, he or she is still obligated to financially support the child. The West Virginia BCSE has the authority to seek parents who have stopped paying, no matter where they have gone under the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act.
