The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services provides tools and resources for families to access child support information, apply for services and make payments. In Kentucky, every child has a legal right to financial support from both parents and CHFS assists families in making sure the children get the financial support they need. In order to make sure that parents pay their child support obligation, CHFS can employ a number of enforcement mechanisms including wage garnishment and tax refund diversion. In addition CHFS can help a parent find an absent parent in order to enforce an existing obligation or establish a new obligation.
