The Mississippi child support calculator is based on a simple equation of a percentage of adjusted gross income based on the number of children involved.
How to Calculate
The child support guidelines in Mississippi consist of a percentage of a parent’s adjusted gross income based on the number of children to be supported.
Step 1: Figure out gross income by adding up all income sources including wages, salary, income from investments, etc., but excluding income of another spouse.
Step 2: Subtract legal deductions including federal, state and local taxes, involuntary retirement contributions, FICA payments etc.
Step 3: Multipy the adjusted gross income by the percentage set forth opposite the number of children to be supported in the guidelines.
