West Virginia Child Support Laws | West Virginia Code, Chapter 48

The West Virginia Child Support laws provide the conditions and parameters for implementing and enforcing a child support order. When parents are divorced or separated, financial provision must be made for the children. The court assesses the income of parents, certain costs they may have as well as the needs of the children and the standard of living they would have if the parents had remained together. These factors are taken into account when establishing or modifying a child support order.
