By Child-Support.com Staff – Last updated

The Commonwealth of Virginia’s laws provide the Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) with its authority to manage the commonwealth’s child support program. The laws set forth the circumstances upon which an order for child support can be issued and the enforcement tools that can be implemented in order to make sure that any child support payments are paid when due.  In addition to the Virginia code, the Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) is authorized under federal statutes to locate parents across state lines who have failed to meet their child support obligation in Virginia.
