When the responsible parent fails to meet the child support obligation, the Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) takes action to enforce the order of support. In Hawaii, if you have a child support order you need to have enforced, the Child Support Enforcement Agency has a number of tools that it can use to obtain child support from a non-paying parent. In order to obtain the services of the Child Support Enforcement Agency, you have to provide them with enough information so they can work to assist you.

How to File a Complaint

There are numerous ways a parent can enforce a child support order in Hawaii. A list of enforcement tools is available on the State of Hawaii Child Enforcement Agency website.

How to Fill In

Step 1: Download the application.

Step 2: Enter the following information about yourself (the applicant):

  • Check if you already have a case with the State of Hawaii
  • Check whether you are the mother, father or caretaker of the children
  • Fill out the relationship history between you and the other parent
  • Check if the children live with you or not
  • Check which service you are requesting
  • Name
  • Street Address
  • Phone numbers
  • E-Mail Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Soc. Sec. No.
  • Sex
  • Race/Ethnicity
  • Primary Language
  • Employment
  • Name of Employer
  • Occupation
  • Employer’s Street Address
  • Tel. Number
  • Gross Monthly Income
  • Are you Incarcerated?

Step 3: Enter the following information for each child subject of your application and include a copy of a birth certificate for each child:

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Sex
  • Social Security Number
  • Check whether and how paternity has been established

Step 4: Enter the following information about the other parent:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Telephone Numbers
  • E-Mail Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Soc. Sec No.
  • Sex
  • Race/Ethnicity
  • Primary Language
  • Employment
  • Full Name of Employer
  • Employer’s Address
  • Tel. Number
  • Gross Monthly Income
  • Parent Incarcerated?
  • Location

Step 5: Enter information about existing child support orders and make sure to include a copy of each order with your application

Step 6: Enter information about health insurance for the children

Step 7:  Read Statement Regarding Services Rights and Responsibilities and sign and date.

Step 8: Return the signed and dated application with the requisite documents to the appropriate child support office for processing.
